They then mark their shots on the enemy grid according to their enemy’s reply – using a X to mark a hit and a For example, rolling a 6 and a 4 could result in plot points 6,4 or 4,6. Students take turns firing at their enemy’s ships by rolling the two dice and using the two numbers rolled to make a plot point. Ships should not be placed on either O axis. Ships can be placed horizontally or vertically but they may not overlap. Students should sit opposite their opponent with a barrier placed between them.īefore commencing play each student marks their ships on the ‘My Ships’ grid included on the printed game sheet using a series of dots (2, 3, 4 or 5, depending upon the size of the ship), being sure to place the dots at the intersection of two lines, not in the middle of the squares. One pen to mark their ships, and the other to mark the plot points played once the game begins. It is also helpful if students use two different coloured pens/pencils to play. It can be fun, as well as a teensy bit frustrating when you are sure you know where their ship is hidden! Your guess is generated by the numbers you roll on two dice. So it’s just like a standard game of Battleship, except you cannot simply guess the location of your enemy’s ships. Students play in pairs, and to play they plot their fleet of ships onto the printable grid and then use dice to determine the co-ordinates for their strikes against the enemy!
